![]() I decided to devote my life to helping others who have also been torn apart by the struggles of life. After deep reflection and soul searching in the Himalayas, I realised that a lot of my pain was rooted in the sudden death of my mother when I was only 21 years old. ![]() I used the Everest expedition to make sense of some of my own internal battles. I made the climb in memory of my mother, who passed away in 2001 at the tender age of 44 to a heart condition. In 2008, I fulfilled a life-long dream by joining a British expedition to climb Mount Everest, raising more than £300,000 for the British Heart Foundation. Upon my return to the UK, I followed my desire to serve the community by working as a police officer in Scotland (Strathclyde Police). ![]() In my early years, I trained in advanced first aid and joined an ocean rescue team abroad. Born in Wales, UK and raised in Scotland, I have always had a passion for service. ![]()
